SCULPTURAL DRAFTS
EXPLORATION:
This collection represents experimental studies that inform my larger installations, delving into the processes, materials, and concepts that shape my artistic practice. Using materials such as raw clay, cement, and found objects, I explore their properties and potential. Clay, for example, serves as a metaphor for the human condition, reflecting the transient nature of existence and the structures we inhabit.
My work explores themes of empathy, beauty, fragility, and love—qualities that are necessary for understanding the past, engaging with the present, and realizing progress. These concepts challenge the sanitized, overly curated structures in contemporary society, reflecting how political frameworks govern our lives, holding fragile systems in place.
With a background in architectural design, I approach these studies through a multidisciplinary lens, considering not just aesthetics but also spatial and functional implications. My work addresses the intersection of politics and existence, exploring how political systems permeate every aspect of life and questioning how much agency we have in shaping our environments.
Ultimately, these studies are integral to my artistic journey, offering insights into the conceptual and material considerations that inform my larger works and serving as a platform for ongoing exploration.
